METROBANK FOUNDATION PARTNERSHIP

On January 24, 2025, the Zonta Club of Makati and Environs (ZCME) and its esteemed partner, the Metrobank Foundation, Inc. (MBFI), convened at Milky Way Café to discuss the continued collaboration in championing women's empowerment through education.
This partnership has been instrumental in supporting the education and development of young women, and the meeting focused on building upon their successful efforts.
For School Year 2023-2024, MBFI generously supported 15 scholars through its Education for Empowering Women Scholarship Program (EWSP). All of these scholars graduated with outstanding achievements, underscoring the success and impact of the initiative.
The group also explored potential job opportunities for these newly graduated scholars, with the intention of connecting them to partners in the Engineering and IT industries.
The meeting was attended by several key figures. From MBFI, Executive Vice President Philip Francisco Dy, Program Manager and Head of the Grants and Partnership Unit Marievic Mariano, and Program Officer Joshua Ruizo were present. ZCME was represented by President Elect and Education Committee Head Marcy Kohchet Chua, Vice President and former EWSP Committee Head Suyin Liu, Past President Vivian Uy, and Executive Director Jay Joaquino.
The discussions were both productive and inspiring, as the two organizations explored new ways to strengthen and expand their partnership in support of women’s education and empowerment. The group explored multiple avenues for extending the reach of the EWSP and providing further opportunities for ZCME’s beneficiaries.
