MEDIA LAUNCHED SINING FILIPINA
The Sining Filipina National Art Contest, the premier art competition exclusively for Filipina artists, returns for its highly anticipated second year. This remarkable initiative, spearheaded by the Zonta Club of Makati and Environs (ZCME) in collaboration with Chinabank and SM Hypermarket, continues to honor the extraordinary creativity and vision of Filipina visual artists nationwide.
The contest was officially launched on January 10, 2025, at SM Aura Premiere in Taguig, with a captivating event hosted by multi-awarded news icon Mr. Rico Hizon. The launch brought together industry leaders, advocates for the arts, and the vibrant community of Filipina artists.
This year’s theme, “Her Earth, Her Future: Women at the Forefront of Sustainability,” emphasizes the crucial role that women play in fostering sustainable practices and protecting the environment. Through this theme, the contest celebrates Filipina artists as powerful voices advocating for a greener, more sustainable future. Their work will not only showcase their artistic prowess but also inspire others to take action toward preserving the planet for future generations.
A panel discussion followed the launch, featuring insightful perspectives from the ZCME Sining Filipina Committee Head, Stella Cabalatungan; SM Supermall Vice President, Ms. Gace Magno; and Airspeed President, Ms. Rosemarie Rafael. The discussion centered on the theme of sustainability and the significant impact of Filipina women in leading environmental change, both through their artistic expressions and their advocacy efforts.
