Every two years, the BRAVO Empowered Women Awards program honors change makers, achievers, and advocates of social change nationwide. As a way to implement the biennium theme of “Honor and Empower”, it acknowledges the contributions of notable individuals who deliver significant economic and social impact and demonstrate incredible dedication to service and leadership.
The project, done in collaboration with Security Bank, has proved to be one of the most visible and successful partnership since its inception in 2015. Through the BRAVO Awards, we have helped to promote the participation of women from various sectors.
This year, the Board of Judges was composed of Justice Conchita Carpio-Morales, Dr. Jikeong Kang, Mrs. Olivia Celeste M. Villafuerte, Mrs. Maria Isabel Ongpin, and Ms. Cherrie Atilano.
While the recipients of this year’s awards come from different backgrounds and excel in various fields, our judges all agreed that they serve as inspiration for us all. Some of them include a jiu-jitsu player who advocates against child sexual abuse, a Bagobo chieftain who is championing her tribe’s culture, and founders of social enterprises. Read on to get to know the nine outstanding BRAVO Empowered Women.
