Opportunities are often difficult to get by in a fast-paced and work-driven society, moreso for disadvantaged individuals in both urban and rural communities. When you lack the skills and competencies required of you in your desired field, employability becomes almost impossible.

Since one of Zonta’s core missions is to serve the marginalized, programs aligned with this are aimed at advancing women’s status in society. Doing our part to improve the quality of life of the Filipino workforce is part of this mission, and fortunately the STAIRS Global Education, Inc. is an organization that shares our goal. STAIRS creates sustainable professional development programs targeting their development of technical skills, entrepreneurial skills and proper work values.

This year, the organization forged a partnership with ZCME that ensures the creation of a well-equipped, skilled and educated workforce through the implementation of the Dual Training System in accordance with Republic Act 7686, otherwise known as the Dual Training Act of 1994.

STAIRS Global aims to serve as a career booster for trainees, professionals, aspiring entrepreneurs, and out-of- school-youth in areas not limited to barangays in Taguig and Makati. With this, ZCME eagerly opened its doors to Stairs Global in the conduct of its training programs, seminars, assessments and other training programs, all of which are authorized by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Senior High School programs (SHS) authorized by DepEd, continuing professional development programs accredited by PRC, and other programs.

Under the said agreement, five rooms will be allotted to Stairs Global by ZCME at their building in Taguig City. One room will be utilized as a library space while ther emaining four will serve as a lecture  room, training room, and a laboratory for programs including but not limited to garments, wellness, and beauty care. Equipment such as tables, chairs, high- speed sewing machines, dressers and mirrors will also be provided.

Both organizations are hopeful to enable a new pool of workers equipped with the best possible qualifications fit to serve the nation. Eventually, this strengthened manpower should not only lead to the upliftment of their lives, but also spark the boom in their community’s growth
