Women Leading Our World
Empowering women in the workforce means allowing them to have more control over their lives, giving them the freedom to make their own schedules, learn new skills, and gain self-reliance. Empowerment is created when the strengths brought by women to the company are recognized and utilized. Every two years since its inception in 2014, Zonta Club of Makati and Environs, in partnership with Security Bank, presents the BRAVO Empowered Women Awards to celebrate the Filipino women who have truly excelled, not only in their professional lives but also as leaders and role models in their communities. The awards also focus on the important role of women in promoting diversity, the rendering of service, and demonstrating leadership for nation-building. All nominees undergo vetting by a screening committee composed of Zonta members and officers of Security Bank, while selection proper is undertaken by a group of judges who have achieved recognition in various disciplines of industry and their profession. Eight remarkable Filipino women are awarded for each of the categories namely, arts, culture and heritage, business, culinary arts, education, media and public affairs, science and technology, social services, and sports. While many of these women come from different industries and walks of life, they share several traits, which are: a strong sense of self, success-driven work ethics, and extraordinary achievements. These women are the change makers, achievers, and advocates of social change. Their commitment, vision, and talents make them true leaders in their chosen fields.
